2019

January 7, 2019 Lady in Walmart last night reading a text out loud “You hurt my face and head but I forgave you because you were drunk.”

Angelica stood over her husband sitting in his beige recliner. He matched the recliner. The recliner was dirty and the sides were torn. Her husband was covered in grime and his stomach spilled out of his shirt like the arm rests folded over from use. He’d just tripped her on purpose when she walked by and then laughed when her head narrowly missed the edge of the wall going into the kitchen. Her knees would be bruised in the morning and then her coworkers would tease her about being on the knees pleasuring her husband. Her legs shook when she stood up to stand over him. He continued to laugh, causing his belly to shake and the recliner’s frame to creak. “Tim. Two days ago you hurt my face and head when you pushed me into the door and slammed my head into it twice. I forgave you though because you were drunk. But you have got to stop doing this. You’re going to seriously injure me and you’ll be to drunk to take me to the hospital.” Angelica begged. Tim continued to laugh. “Come here baby.” He said. Angelica hesitated but crawled on top of his lap. “Nothing will happen to you. We are just play fighting.” He kissed her on the forehead. Her stiff muscles relaxed. He would never really hurt her. He knew nothing serious would happen when he’d done those things to her. Angelica smiled at her husband. “I’m sorry for getting upset Tim.” She said. Tim pushed her up off her lap, his tone instantly changing. “Just don’t let it happen again.” He said. Angelica sighed and continued to the kitchen. Her fight already gone.
