Fe – Extroverted Feeling, HARMONY, what gets everyone’s needs met? How is everyone feeling? Associated with other people’s feelings, empathy, keeping the peace. Also connected to social norms and ethics. And concerned with intimacy. Very aware of what others are feeling. Conflict averse. Emotionally organizing others.
Fi – Introverted Feeling, MORALS, what is right and what is wrong? What makes me a bad or a good person? How do I feel about something? How does this action make me feel? Concerned with own internal emotions, own moral compass and internal belief system. Sympathy. Emotionally organized internally.
Te – Extroverted Thinking, EFFECTIVENESS, How can I accomplish this in the most effective way? Concerned with organizing the external world to be efficient, productive and fact orientated. Plans actions to meet a goal. Sets aside feelings to make decisions. Te comes off as busy, bossy but productive and organizes. Logically organizing others.
Ti – Introverted Thinking, ACCURACY, Does this make logical sense? Concerned with critical thinking, analyzing, questions and clarifies, precision, finds inconsistencies, inner logical truth, categorizes information internally. This function is essentially a person’s bullshit detector. Ti comes off as nitpicking, overthinking, overconcerned with things being internally exactly accurate and true. Logically organized internally.
Ne – Extroverted Intuition, CREATIVITY, A lot of probing questions. What is this connected to? Why? Why do you think/feel that? If this.. then that said out loud. Concerned with understanding, outer perceptions, possibilities, exploring abstract concepts and implications in a creative way. Likes discussing theories and hearing ideas from other people to extrapolate and expand. Future orientated Ne comes off as scattered, random, quirky, curious and flighty. Gathers generalized knowledge divergently
Ni – Introverted intuition, PROPHETIC, Discovery questions. What is the meaning of ….? What are the implications on my life for my future? What could be? If this then that, understood internally. Concerned with comprehensive vision using a complex understanding of abstract concepts. Uses reality to extrapolate internal understanding of people or things. Ideas connected with patterns, symbols, hunches and the essence of everything. Sees all of the available futures, and externally picks a narrow path. Future orientated. Ni comes off as prophetic, mysterious, complex and pensive. Gathers generalized knowledge convergently
Se – Extroverted Sensing, REALITY, What is happening? Concerned with the five senses, taste smell touch hear see and using them in real time to collect information about people or things around them. Interested in providing experiences to others. Also detail orientated but details are observed and not stored or remembered with this function. Very aware of everything around them in a concrete way. Focused on the collective experience. Gathers detailed knowledge divergently
